Hydex has developed a hooklift demountable system for use on Caterpillar articulated dump truck chassis, based on the 730, and 740B long wheelbase.
The hooklift has been engineered to work with the CAT chassis ensuring that the load is correctly distributed across the axles, giving a safe and stable platform from which to operate the hooklift. Unlike some custom modifications you might see where a standard road going hooklift has been mounted where it fits on top of a chassis.

Hooklift articulated trucks are intended for use wherever the underfoot conditions are not suitable for normal road going trucks to operate, such as landfill sites or across construction, mining or quarry sites.
Traditionally road going hooklift trucks are used for the carriage of waste skips or containers, but with an off highway articulated truck such as the Hydex hooklift truck a whole other range of operations can be safely fulfilled, for example a hooklift articulated truck could be used for moving, carrying and operating attachments such as water tanks, field service units, ISO containers, fire suppression units as well as special dirt dumper bodies and traditional containers. In fact it could be possible to design a specific attachment to suit your individual needs, making the Hydex hooklift into a full multipurpose machine.
It’s even possible to integrate the controls of your demountable unit into the cab of the articulated truck and to use the hydraulic and electrical power from the truck itself meaning there is no need for separate costly “donkey” engines on each demountable.
